  1. A small correction to your excellent work. There is a short section of the old Brinklow loop that is incorrectly shown on your map of the original Oxford Canal line. As the old line left Brinklow towards the southeast it did not head straight for the new line parallel to Cathiron Lane. Instead it took a sharp turn to the northeast heading towards Brinklow Road, then turned east to cross the new line and followed the present field boundary until it reached the small coppice where it turned south joining the new line from the north side at a sharp turn. You can see the original line on the first edition of the Ordnance Survey map (1834). The line north of Stretton near Coomb Fields is also different on this map.
